Gender-Affirming Wellness & Surgery Support
We provide support for in Wisconsin for social wellness initiatives and for local and out-of-state transgender folks seeking gender-affirming surgery in Wisconsin. In order to fill the care gaps that they might struggle to financially or socially fill by themselves, we offer multiple services:

What are Open Office Hours?
Are you interested in, planning to get, or supporting a loved one getting a gender-affirming medical procedure? Come prepare for care! We use this time to provide information, our services, and a space to explore your options or plan for surgery and recovery.

Tabling at T4T Queer and Trans Dance Party at the Cardinal Bar
$5 cover donation going toward local trans and jewish community leader, Stormy, who recently found out that he has advanced pancreatic cancer. He is raising money to cover costs for his end-of-life care, to fulfill his lifelong dream to travel to Africa, and to marry his love (another trans community leader) Meier.

Trans Medical Mutual Aid
Trans Medical Mutual Aid (TMMA) is a small group of safe, experienced individuals in Madison, WI providing basic care services for individuals who receive gender-affirming surgery in the area.
Our services:

Provide safe rides to and from the hospital/hotels/grocery stores/transit hubs

Offer matched peer support
-
Leverage connections in the local community to provide some meals during your recovery
-
Deliver educational classes and demos to assist folks in preparing for recovery, navigating insurance and benefits, accessing financial support, understanding the different types of procedures, and setting up a suitable recovery location
Please note, we are an entirely volunteer-run organization and availability for services varies. Please contact us as soon as possible to schedule services.

RIDES
We have safe, vetted individuals who can provide rides to and from the hospital, grocery store, transit hubs, and hotels or living accommodations before and after your gender-affirming procedure
PEER SUPPORT
We have experienced individuals available to accompany you to the hospital, visit you after your procedure, or provide peer support during your recovery
GENDER-AFFIRMING MEDICAL CARE CLASSES
We provide classes and demos to help you and your support network navigate the medical system and prepare for wound care. We can bring the information to your org/event, or you can come to our open office hours!
MEAL TRAINS
We can leverage our connections in the local community to crowd-source delivered meals during your recovery period


Activities & Info
From Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, we gather in one large campsite to:
Put up tents and set up campsite
Play group games
Cook food over a fire
Frolic at the beach
Tie-dye & screen print commemorative t-shirts
Share trans/queer joy in the outdoors
